Pack a Blanket

You're going to be on the bus for quite a while, and the temperature might not always be what you'd like it to be. You can help ensure your comfort by packing a blanket in your carry-on. When the temperatures start to dip, you can wrap yourself up and stay comfortable. Don't pack one that's too big though. You don't want to be carrying around a full-size comforter everywhere you go.

Arrive Early and Map Out the Location

If you've never been to a bus terminal before, you might be surprised at how chaotic they can be. To help you avoid confusion, and prevent delays, it's a good idea to arrive at the terminal at least an hour early. You won't go through the extensive security checks that are required for airplane travel. However it's still important to arrive early. Arriving at the terminal early will allow you to locate your departure gate so that you won't be delayed. Not only that, but it will give you a chance to get settled in and relax before you take off. A good rule of thumb is to sit as close to your boarding area as possible. That way, you can get in line quickly and choose the best seat.

Listen to the Driver

Your bus driver has been around the block a few times. In fact, they've probably driven the same route hundreds of times, which means they've got some experience that you could benefit from. While you're traveling, make sure you listen to the driver, especially when it comes to the stops along the way. Your driver will know the best places to eat, the restroom facilities to avoid, and what time you should head back to the terminal. By listening to your driver, you can add some enjoyment to your trip, and avoid some frustration.
